VVR is dedicated to producing quality organic perennial vegetables for market, and we are always looking for new and old varieties to add to our gardens. The first perennial vegetable that most people think of is asparagus, which we grow organically in two of our gardens–interplanted with other suitable perennials, and enthusiastically weeded by our Cotton Patch Geese.
We also grow perennial greens, such as Good King Henry and Horseradish (which is also known–and grown–for its spicy root), as well as Cascadian Mountain Spinach, which is a new green for VVR in 2015. VVR has a wooded riparian area that we think is perfect for fiddleheads (a tasty young fern), and shady forest where we are beginning to grow ramps (West Virginia’s famous wild leek). These are just a few of the perennial veggies that you can expect from Vernal Vibe Rise, and we offer rhubarb and perennial herbs as well.
